I saw this on the way to work last week. I actually whipped a u turn and went back to get this shot.
It isn’t so disturbing that the thermometer is reading -196. I survived the walk from my back door to my car, so I am pretty sure it wasn’t that cold (it was actually 51 on the other side of the sign).
What REALLY disturbs me is that it is able to DISPLAY -196.
I don’t know why I feel less “cool” for saying this, but I have really gotten into American Idol this year. And what made me do it is an 8 year old girl.
My oldest daughter really started to get into the singing this year, and latched on to a personal favorite.
It has really provided a neat point of conversation for us, as she has no problem voicing her opinion over the night’s performances.
Last night they ended their charity performance with one of the last songs I would have expected to hear on Prime Time Fox.

I am love playing with “gadgets”. Especially things like cell phones and computers.
Chances are, that if you don’t share that obsession, you are married to someone who does. This week I picked up a Sling Box. It allows me to watch my home TV channels on my laptop or my cell phone (just in time for the Wild to enter the playoffs!)
I realized that my hobby had become an obsession, when I was sitting in our family room watching Jeopardy on my 3 inch cell phone screen, while our full size TV sat, turned off, 8 feet away.
