Car Powered by Mentos and Coke Zero

The guys at Eepybird are at it again!

The folks who turned fizzing minty cola into a performance art, have found a way to power a car with their concoction!

The all new Mark II Coke Zero and Mentos Rocket is not, however, likely to be hitting your local car dealership anytime soon.

The vehicle was propelled 6 feet by 54 bottles of Coke Zero and 324 mentos (Followed by about 200 feet of  coasting).

Math Time:

1 Mento = $0.04 (source)
1 Bottle of Coke Zero = $1.69 (source)

Total Cost of Fuel:

$104.22 for 6 Feet (or $17.37 per foot)

Mileage:

So, we are looking at roughly $91,713 per mile.

We have a little ways to go before this becomes the alternative fuel source of the future.

Hacker Develops Alternative to Obscene Gestures

On occasion, I wish I could communicate slightly more with my fellow drivers than a wave can emote.

In my case, it’s usually along the lines of “Sorry!” or “My Bad!”. But I would venture to guess that some road rage could be prevented, if we were just able to communicate slightly more than a gesture allows.

So I got a kick out of this weekend project (This is cool!!!)

An LED panel display for the rear window.

This link provides more information INCLUDING complete instructions on how to build your own.

What do you think… would more communication lead to less… or more road rage?
