My 2017

Excuse me while I get self-indulgent for a moment (but what would you expect at “carlbliss.com”…)

I just wanted to take a moment to look back on 2017 while I still remember it. A lot happened.

I made some friends:

A snowshoe run at Afton State Park

Another one of many group runs at Afton
A bunch of Minnesotans at SxSW

I reconnected with some OLD friends…

I “mastered” something…

I watched my wife thrive…

Our anniversary trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior
Katie teaching at Camp Shamineau

I celebrated with my kids…

Greta gets a section qualifier time.
Accepted to UNW
Sending some t-shirts flying!
Katie and I got to baptize our youngest

I tried some new things…

I went to Idaho to run with some friends…

I ran my first 50 mile race…

I ran my second 50 mile race…

I tried to run 100 miles…

And learned to appreciate good friends!

I got to meet Chewbacca Mom, and Abraham Lincoln at the same time…

I got to work with some great people.

I worked my dream-job at a race

I crossed a bridge

In any given moment it is easy for me all that God has given me. Family, friends, health, and work are easy to take for granted.

The best advice I received this year was from my aunt and uncle who reminded me to get my ship out of the harbor and into the waters where God can move me.

Thanks, God, for the opportunities I’ve had in 2017. I pray that I can not waste them as they come along in 2018.
