Visit to Feed My Starving Children

Yesterday, I visited “Feed My Starving Children” with some coworkers.

They do some great work providing food for those in need, around the world. They package a specially formulated blend of Rice, Soy, Vegitables and Vegitarian Chicken Flavoring, with added nutrients and vitamins.

It is formulated to meet the nutritional needs of those under age 5.

My emotions were a bit conflicted as we took on such a serious issue, but had such a fun time doing it.

I put this video together of the day (I’m behind the camera… you won’t see me.)

The rest of our break.

Christmas with the other side of the family and a birthday party for our 8 year old brought the holiday festivities well into the new year.

Here are some shots from the last part of our Christmas break.

Dancing… er.. Sitting with Wolves

Got to go to the Wolves game tonight and actually catch a win! What are the odds of that? (about 6 to 29 apparently)

I think they won because I was there… I tend to do that to them.

Thanks to Jason for catching me on TV!

You have to look REALLY close….

No Closer…

I am that royal blue shirt with the black sports coat in the top left of the screen.

I didn’t have Jason’s good fortune
I DID however take notice that basketball writers appear to have a difficult time keeping their hair!

Happy New Year

It has been a fun and busy couple of weeks as our house has had plenty of Christmas visitors!

Today I am back to the “normal” in life.

But worth noting…

8 Years ago this morning, I was given the title of “Dad”!!!

Color My World

We got an exciting call early this morning. We received word that “Thing 1” won 3rd place in a coloring contest at Wal-Mart! She received a $5 gift card!

“The Pretty One” encouraged “Thing 1” (our resident money saver) to consider using the money to help “Thing 2” buy some Christmas presents.

Both of the girls handled it very well (since “Thing 2” had also entered the contest).

A few minutes later, we received another call. “Thing 2” took 1st place in her age group and had won a $15 gift card!

We are so proud of both of them. They really took this contest seriously. They spent more than an hour on each coloring sheet and made sure that I met the deadline in dropping them off (asking me every day until I completed the task). I am thrilled to see them rewarded for their hard work.

I am also thrilled that I won’t need to “spot them” a few bucks for Christmas presents!

If we get the sheets back, I will scan them in for you!

Huck and Chuck

I know I have a while to make a decision on President #44, but I suddenly feel as though I must vote for the Norris ticket.

Seriously though, this is one of those commercials you can tell was produced exclusively to get the viral results. It is an effort to peg the Digg and YouTube audience and get it passed around.

Dollar for Dollar, it is a pretty smart way to get the message to a constituency that is watching less and less traditional media.

A Special Visitor

The morning after Thanksgiving, in our home town, is punctuated by the sounds of fire trucks coming down the street.

The girls put their coats and boots on in championship form. I always wish they were that speedy on school mornings.

We rushed out to the curb to see what was the matter.

A special visitor was being welcomed to town.
