Videos I thought were cool.

I read another article about a possible NKOTB reunion. I never was a fan, but I checked out a YouTube video to bring back the memories. Man, I forgot how influential their clothing was in the early 90’s. I felt like I was back in Jr. High.

That got be thinking that I should do some more searching and see if I could find some other videos that I remember from those years, just to check on the fashion and see if they were nearly as cool.

Here are a few

Nu Thang

The title probably says it all. 1991 DC Talk. Similar styles and staging to the NKOTB. I sure miss the choreographed ensemble. Oh yeah… and the hats.

Where the Streets Have No Name

U2. From what I know, this wasn’t really staged. The conflict is mostly real. That makes it even more fun to watch.

Take On Me

A-Ha

Half a decade earlier than the rest, but my favorite music video.

I wish the upturned collar still “made the man”.

Secret Ambition
Michael W. Smith

I love the drama elements to this video. It was refreshing at the time, because most music videos were just people in odd settings lip synching with little context. This had a neat tie in to the story.

It’s also a good post for Passion week:

  1. umm…If I still dress like this does that make me lame? Cause I kinda think this is still cool….

  2. @ Brian

Not at all! I would assume you are on the cutting edge of this style coming back! Keep on pushing!
